Empire Hotel iftar session

honestly, i was so jealous with my gfs and other MMU friends with their delightful iftar session few days ago. everyone was wearing nice baju kurung as the theme of that day. they even have a surprised bday celebration for my lalink. how i wish i was there too.. :(

me: they are going to the curve for iftar session. i wish i can be with my friends, having fun too. :(
mr hubs: you have me here. i am your friend. we can go out for iftar and have fun too.

i was trembled as i realized i shouldn't made him feel bad about this. the situation won't be the same. but i know he is trying hard to make me happy, to make me feel like home. yeah, after that i promised myself that i won't do that again.at least not make him feel bad. hehe. we'll see :P

then we decided to have our own iftar session. to date, its our 3rd month being a couple of husband and wife. its not a celebration since mr hubs don't wanna pamper me with monthly celebrations because celebrations=gifts! for sure i'll be so spoilt and it won't be that meaningful anymore when it reaches our anniversary celebration. lets it be the most awaited and meaningful event every year. insyaallah, theres many years to come. for this "monthlysary", i would say its enough with only wishes and a peck on the cheek, (and maybe some making out activity after that.. hahhahaha).

so we chose The Empire Hotel's ramadhan buffet. this hotel is located in jerudong. and this is the most expensive hotel in Brunei Darussalam. tapi mmg cantik hotel ni. its huge and gigantic! and the buffet, costs us about BND28 per pax. and the variety of food is just awesome. of course they won't leave ambuyat behind. such a must-have food in brunei. owh don't i tell you that this hotel got its own cinema, do i? yes it does. and the cinema is just so breathtaking. we've been here before, watching toy story 3.
this is us, sebelom melantak! tq ridhuan bertindak sbg jurugambar pada hari itu.
owhh tolong abaikan pengembangan badan kami selepas kawen. ingat pakai hitam nampak lagi slim. tp jelas, theory ni takleh pakai. utk lulus exam je bole pakai.

lepas melantak puas-puas mcm dah tak bole bernafas, we went ahead to bandar Gadong. just wanted to sip a cup of coffee. so we decided to have it at the coffeebean. well, we got no starbucks here due to religious issue. so i have to learn to swallow the other-than-starbucks-but-coffeebean coffee since we had no other choice. being me, a hardcore fan of starbucks, finds is really hard to adjust my ego. :p well, its all about time i guess. sampai je sana, mr hubs terus beratur. i tell you this is the busiest coffeebean i've ever seen. ramai giler org. tapi yg kelakarnye, dekat brunei ni semua pun nak buat direct translation. just imagine "The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf" jadik "Biji Kopi dan Daun Teh"?.. hahahaha. nak type pun rasa cm nak tergelak. Kalau kat hotel depan rumah ni pun lawak jugak. "Seaview Hotel and Resorts" jadik "Hotel Pandangan Laut dan Peranginan". WAKAKAKAKKA

Then mr hubs get me a new handphone. no no no. its not iphone 4 or Blackberry Torch. ini hanya utk pakai angkat telepon & send SMS. other functions, pls use your blackberry. since roaming charges is really burning holes in our pockets and obviously killing us, it is more appropriate for me to have a permanent brunei phone number. i was so happy with my new phone because it is nokia. ahhaha. its a brand new nokia 2220 slide phone. cool. its cheap but i love it so much. i love nokia for being such a user friendly phone for people like me. and this phone comes with many striking metallic colours. but i'd settled with a silver one. :) so rakyat malaysia, pls contact me with my brunei number even i still have my blackberry turned on.

this is my brunei number's phone. :) gambar amek kat google sbb blom tangkap gambar lagi phone baru. mr hubs, thank you :)

so its official that we are not going back for hari raya since mr hubs has to work during hari raya. huhuhuhuu.no no no. mr hubs pun suruh balik if i wanna go home. but being a good wife, i think its not fair to him that after married he still have to be single on hari raya.sad? sape tak sedih when everyone can kiss their parents' hands and i can't?.. :( well, this is life. takpe2 just change the way you see it. now i'm a married woman. i should be by my husband side through thick and thin. for the first time i am going to celebrate raya as a wife. for the first time ever, i am going to celebrate it far from my family. naseb baik tak hantar gambar masuk dekat section salam perantau dekat Utusan Malaysia kan. haha. gedik sungguh. Luckily we are going to celebrate it with the rest of Schlumberger staff over here. yela, sama-sama takbole balik kan. :P

so we decided to cook delicious food for raya. and knowing our rice cooker is just a normal and simple rice cooker which it does not have the ability to boil or steam or whatever, we decided to buy a new one. and now i have it with me.

taraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......
this magic multicooker not only can cook rice, but it can also boil, steam, even bake a cake! now call me a happy champ :)

so hows your Ramadhan? i wish that you have the most wonderful Ramadhan. Enjoy the final days of Ramadhan since you have to wait for another year to enjoy it again. recite more prayers as this is a month full of barakah :)

night during the last ten days of Ramadhan. [Bukhari]"

ikan 3 rasa & nasi minyak

tau tak? barang rumah kami dah sampai. hari jumaat lepas. banyak. 21 kotak besar. mmg masa utk unpack dan mengemas barang2 tu amek masa 2 hari jugakla. perasaan keterujaan melihat barang2 rumah kami sampai mmg tidak dapat dibendung. excited beb dapat makan dlm pinggan. haha. mane taknye, kalau tak asek mkn dlm polistrin je. penantian sememangnya satu penyeksaan.

hari jumaat ngan sabtu mmg takleh nak masak lagi sbb semua brg still blom basuh and susun cantik2. so hari ahad adalah hari yg paling sesuai untuk kami ke pasar pagi dan membeli belah untuk menyediakan makan malam pertama kami di kediaman baru. perghhhhh.

alang-alang beli ikan bawal, kami bersetuju untuk menyediakan ikan 3 rasa. hahahaa. bunyi cam tere kan. dahla before kawen haram tak penah masak. naseb baik ade internet. mmg berguna betul. rupenye takde la susah sgt buat ikan 3 rasa ni. ni je bahan-bahan yg diperlukan.

pastu .. tadaaaaaa...dah siap!!
hasilnya sungguh membanggakan. sedap pulak tu. tere tere. :P
so inilah hidangan pertama kami menggunakan segala peralatan yg diimport khas dr malaysia. :)

rentetan kejayaan menghasilkan hidangan pertama, terus mr hubs menyatakan hasrat menjemput kawan-kawannya berbuka dirumah merangkap house warming pada keesokan hari. perghh mmg twitter terabai kejap. all out 4 hari berturut-turut.

so ini adalah keadaan dapur ku pada ketika proses penyediaan. tengok botol spices ade berbelas-belas jenis. penah dengar masak ayam masak merah letak italian herbs dgn rosemary? takpun masak acar letak oregano? haa kami la tu. skarang dah penah dengar kan? :P

punya busy dengan preparation sampai ke waktu berbuka. sampai tak sempat amek gambar.sekeping pun tadak gambar makanan. damnnn!!! dah la first time masak nasi minyak+ayam merah+ acar +pudding. masak utk ramai org pulak tu. 14 org. haihhh frust betul. derang ni tgkp gambar derang je. sabo je la.
masing-masing makan tak angkat muka pun. khusyuk dan tawadduk gitu. alhamdulillah.
dan ini of course saya punye assistant. temgok goreng keropok pun eksyen. belagak betul. tapi apepun, it was a success :) tapi letih dia tuhan je yang tahu. terjelepok!!

percayalah kawan-kawan yg tak pandai masak. you tube sangat berguna. jangan risau kalau tak pandai masak tak bole kawen. sbb kami tak pandai masak bole je kawen. pastu siap bole masak untuk banyak perut lagi ok.

untuk resepi dan cara masak nasi minyak, get it here. sangat senang dan membantu untuk insan-insan seperti kami. :)

testing testing testing

Its 5.15am and we just had our sahur. And now I'm here lying on the bed with my hubs snoring his heart out with his hands around me, tend not to miss any body contact. While I wonder why my eyes having a difficulties to doze off. Maybe because of thick nescafe I've had just now. Maybe... So I grabbed my phone and started to tweet. And I get bored after a liltle while. So I decided to give this blog a shot. I've never posted any entry via mobile. So let see how would this turn out to be.

Well, life been treating me good so far. I am blessed with a loving husband who knows how to lend a hand, sometimes two in my daily household chores. I am moved when he cooked rice for us, did the sambal belacan and the one incharged for even peeling off the shallots skin.I have my own car and I am able to drive around whenever my hubs not around. its easier for me to attend the swimming class, dance class and aerobic class at Panaga Club. And of course I don't have to rely on my hubs 100% if I need to do some shopping. All I need to do is start the engine! And I can choose either to bandar sri begawan or miri. And I have the internet connection already. Which has quite helpful speed. I have good astro coverage and a lot of dvd copies to watch.I need not to worry about paying bills because there is someone far more better is helping me to take care all of these. I am allowed to wake up late no matter what. I am not obligated with morning or evening traffic jams. I can have lunch break like ten times a day. Nobody will scold me. Nobody is judging me. I am free from office gossips and politics. I am a happy bunny. I mean what else on earth should I ask for more when I am granted with this kind of happiness.

Anyhow, I get bored easily. I am that kinda person that always need something new to venture on. I miss my hectic life. I miss my packed schedules. I miss meeting people or in other words, the clients. I miss working late. I miss everything.

I think I'll look for a job. No I won't take it as a career since my careerpath is changed after I got hitched. Its not about monthly salary or a paycheck. Money is not everything to me. I am very thankful for what I had today. I have enough. Alhamdulillah. Everyone knows the difference between a job and a career. A career is a long term thingy and reflect to your self satisfaction while a job is not that. for now, my family is my career. Hehe. I mean I enjoy every minute of being the madam of the house. Arranging everything from a-z. Organizing stuffs with my own sweat. Cooking every meal with my own hands. But I have so much time left. I really think I'll look for a job, at least to kill my time. I won't go for very serious job. Neither a time-killing one.I am not a career driven person. Neither an ambitious one. Call me lazy. Call me traditional. Call me whatever u want. But I think I was born to be pampered. That's what I am now :) on the other hand, its not easy to get serious in your career once you are an expat's wife because u'll be travelling around the world with a very short notice.. And I enjoy every second of it to bits.

What do you think? Where should I start? A resume maybe? Or maybe a new pair of shoes? hahahahaaaa...Maybe I'll do some reasearch first. And now I need to sleep. I can't let my mr hubs alone in the la la land. :p

p/s:posting an entry through your mobile is not bad at all!

final days- Vung Tau

i think i'm gonna write about our final days in vietnam. i told you that we're off to Vung Tau, did i? we really did. Vung Tau is a city at the south of Vietnam. we're visiting a friend of mr hubs. en yusri and puan maslina. hehe. Kalau kat Malaysia, Vung Tau ni mcm Labuan la. tp far more better from Labuan. We bought our ferry ticket 3 days before. owh sini tak bole beli lambat2 ok. tiket mcm tiket bas nak balik raya. mcm goreng pisang panas.
owh its humid in vietnam. and the people wear this for air filtering. and i have mine too. :)this is Vung Tau's jetty. its bigger and nicer compared to Muara's jetty. :P

Sampai je ngam2 time bukak puasa. and i cud say that Maslina can cooked malaysian food very well. and being us, who had been eating vietnamese food for a week long, definitely turned into two super hungry creatures. ahahhaha. mr hubs dgn tak malunya tambah 3 kali ok!! owh they are blessed with two kids. sorang 2 tahun and sorang lagi baru setahun. what a complete life. :) actually yusri is working with Schlumberger too. previously he was at the same place with mr hubs back in Labuan. and now he has been transferred to Vung Tau for about a year. and they got a very beautiful house over here.it is a house with modern design and not very big. they have their own jacuzzi, swimming pool, security guards and maid. i like their house. very much.this is me together with Mas and Icha in front of their house :)
how i wish i have this at my house too. you are free to do whatever you like with some privacy because its your own pool!

So malam tu, we decided to have a city tour. but we have to ride the bike ourselves. haha. so pinjam moto pakgad satu, put on our helmets and we're ready to go. and now i feel like a real vietnamese. *LOL*. and i tell you, the night life is far more happening than Brunei. hahhaha. mr hubs on helmets! OMG. *takmo ckp ape2* :P
me with Icha, the adorable daughter of Yus and Mas. :)
then we stayed awhile for a cup of coffee. and this is the correct way how to drink Vietnamese coffee. tunggu kopi tu habes tapis, stir it well with the creamer, then pour it into the glass of ice. and it tastes: SUPER DUPER KAW!! this is the best coffee i've ever had. Starbucks pun tak bole lawan.

The next day, the couple took us to a few places around Vung Tau since our ferry back to HCMC was at 2pm. we went to the Fish Bone Temple where they kept the oldest whale bones together with baby whales skeleton in here. then we visited the White Palace, a historical building that used to be that palace for the British/Americans. then we went for a cable car ride up to the hill. tinggi giler!! i think its the same company supplying the cable car cabin with Genting cable car because it looks just the same. :P and they are building a simple amusement park up there.
this is the whale bones that i've been talking about!!
and this is pokok pisang ajaib!! klik gambar utk tumbesaran gambar

ini view Vung Tau dari atas bukit. pack giler!! dari atas nampak mcm susunan kotak-kotak yg rapat-rapat. macam lego. but seriously, the population is huge. and its not even the capital city. its just the third city in the country!!
the white palace!! palace ni besar tapi sini nampak kecik. :P
hahahahahaaaa jangan marah naaaa!!

lepas tu terpaksa pulang semula ke HCMC. sampai2 dah nak pukul 4 centu. plan asal nak pegi berbuka dekat Hard Rock Cafe Saigon, tapi disebabkan beberapa perkara yg tidak dpt dielakkan, kami ended up berbuka dengan nasi briyani :) esoknya kami pulang ke brunei semula.

and now, i am so happy to announce that my mini has finally arrived from KL!! hhhoorrraaaayyyyyy *jumping upside down*
so takdela bosan sangat. i can drive on my own and explore more without my hubs.
owhh, expect me to lost my ways for this couple of days ok :)
