9 things on eat pray love

have you read the book? have you seen the movie?

9 reasons for making this movie is not a good choice:

1. it is 2 1/2hour long and repetitious beyond belief. i think the length would be just fine for an action movie, but never work on a self discovery movie.

2. this is Ryan Murhpy's project. and he is also the director of glee. that's a shame since his projects usually turn out very good!

3.it is a travelogue that might inspire you to take a journey around the world to find yourself. but what person with real problems can afford to drop out of their lives for an entire year? i think what a real person will do is try to scrape ourselves off the ground and try desperately to get a job.

4. from the very first minute of the movie, we're given very little reason to be like the lead, like for her to leave either man. she decided to dump either man for unforeseen reason.

5. still doesn't really help with the whole traveling-to-find-herself thing without any financial backing. She lose everything after the divorced in order to start her journey of self-discovery. hence, she went to three international plane tickets plus all the money needed. (bukan kalau kita dah makan megi dah kan?)

6. it lacks the resonance of the original book. i mean the book says she was funded to travel around the world since she is a writer (which i am so pleased to work the same place with her if my company can fund me too) , but the movie doesn't say anything about it.

7. 2/3 of the movie is about the spirit. we all know that a movie can't really work on drama out of someone meditating.

8. to be honest, at first i was so unsure if Julia Roberts was the right woman to play her.not for her acting ability, but for her age. however, i changed my perspective when i watched this. i think this movie will be a terrible one without julia as the lead role.

9. i lost mr hubs within 1/2 hour of the movie. he went to dreamland because the movie is pretty b.o.r.i.n.g.

well people, again this is only my personal judgement. maybe i can say that i am not into slow and sentimental idea. go see yourself on the silkscreen. and judge it yourself.

my nasi lemak project

hello people.

i have an amazing experience to share.

i cooked nasi lemak, one day before we went back for hari raya. reason: there was a friend of mr hubs, a malay friend in town, fasting alone. so we were so happy to have him over for iftar. at least he wont feel so alone. i think, we also must be happy if the same thing happen to us, invited over a meal while you are all alone. right?

happen to be, it was our first time cooking nasi lemak. (ya lah, before kawen mane teringin masak kan. i mean why do you have to hassle yourself with cooking tools when u can get everything you want from the stalls, without wasting any time. :P). i was googling all over the web to get the easiest recipe. hahaha. well, i found one and it has never been such an excitement over a meal before. the fragrance of pandan leaves, was a veryyy good smell, left us waiting for the rice cooker button to pop up to "keep warm".

then, alhamdulillah we had a great iftar session over our home made nasi lemak. i tell you, eating nasi lemak together with ayam goreng can be soo WOW!

so this was a picture taken on that day! we have a balance diet you know. ahhahaa..

and this nasi lemak has let me to cook it one more time for the post-job party. alhamdulillah mr jobs and the crews have been successfully completed the job and they want to throw some party. normally they just have a bbq party, but time, they were asking for nasi lemak. haiyohhh.. to be frank, i am the only malay ladies available to cook nasi lemak.and this time i am cooking for 20 people. genius! (bini boss org british- tatau masak nasi lemak. cet, macam le aku tau sangat. hahhahaa). so let me share with you the simplest recipe ever to cook nasi lemak. is it guilt-free? almost.

HEALTHY NASI LEMAK MIMI (serving for 4 people)
ingredients:
1 cups of low fat milk/ coconut milk
3 cups of rice
water
1 tiny slice of ginger (slice finely)
2 shallots (slice finely)
1 lemon grass
3 kaffir leaves
4 pandan leaves
pinch of salt

just cook like u usually cook rice. however, you need to take care of them, checking if there is enough water because the coconut milk tend to turn oil and make the rice 'fluffy'. i found that some recipes do put fenugreek to the rice, which i have no idea what the hell is fenugreek means. rupanya fenugreek tu biji halba. hahahahhaaa. of course i dont have it here.
this nasi lemak is extra heavenly eaten with kick-ass sambal with some anchovies and hard-boiled egg. instead of sambal ikan bilis, u can also make prawn or squid sambal using the same recipe. just remember to add the seafood in the last 10 minutes of cooking.

and these were the food that we prepared yesterday to bring to the boss's house for the party. we have nasi lemak, sambal ikan bilis, ayam goreng, keropok goreng and meehoon goreng. owh i am so proud to tell you that the meehoon goreng was prepared by mr hubs. ahahhahaa.i always tease mr hubs by saying that "lelaki pantai timur tak tau masuk dapur tolong isteri. mau makan hidang je". anyways, good effort haaa. and the rest of the menu, sally si bini boss helped me to prepare from her house.
preparing these meals consumed a lot of time + energy. me and sally went to the market to buy all the ingredients needed and me and mr hubs started to cook from 1pm until 4pm. wow, thats a long of time. then we brought over the food and party began at 5pm until midnight. we really had a great time.

but i tell you, the most time-consuming is to clean the mess up and put back all of our cutleries and equipments back to the place. OMG! this can be very torturing. and today i woke up with a great ache all over my bodies. so does mr hubs. kesian. but it was worth it all! :P

well, today is our 4th month being together as a husband-and-wife relationship. alhamdulillah married life is just so beautiful. thank you Allah for make me believe in love again and sent me mr hubs .i know there are many years to come, insyaAllah.

so hows your weekend? yeahh i know you guys have a lot of openhouses attended. how great that would be. :)

bye Sadtember, hello Lucktober

jeng jeng jenggg.. october is here againn. and we happily closed september with a treat to Excapade Sushi. so i prefer this post to be a pictorial post rather than a long post. hehe

actually this sushi place has a great range of reviews from the customers. one of them i read it here. so it is actually quite a recommended sushi place to eat. plus, they said it is much cheaper compared to malaysia. but i think its almost the same.

after solat maghrib together, we headed to the place mentioned. so here we are.
Excapade Sushi has 6 branches in brunei. and they operate everyday like other restaurants. however, it works by reservation. if you don't make any b4 you come in, i bet you won't get any seat because it will always be full-house.

since its just two of us, we chose to be seated at the bar. we loved to see how the staff prepared the sushi. (mr hubs loved to kutuk-kutuk by the way, contoh: ala macam tu je buat sushi. i pun tau. :P )
nampak macam horror kan dia burn the salmon. hahahhaa. thats why i prefer raw salmon instead of others.

and i tell you, the sushi size is the most biggest sushi i've ever seen. tengokla satu portion dalam satu plate. makan satu plate pun bole kenyang mcm ni. besar gile. i bet malaysian sushi sume comel-comel kalau bole nak buat habes kecik. :P

and unfortunately, mr hubs is never a big fan of sushi. yelah, since he doesn't eat any vegetables, so he doesn't have so much choices to eat. kesian. rugi la kan. then normally if we opted for sushi restaurant, he will settled with teppanyaki only. he'll be very happy with a watermelon juice with it. hahahaa

so siapa yang melantak? hehehehee. ini lah dia. tapi takdela melantak sangat pun. sbb takde geng. ni kalau mkn dengan syara ke, dengan eita ke, dgn nisa ke mahu berpinggan-pinggan tak bole berenti.
i admit that i am i big fan of sushi, of course with hot green tea. i believe green tea can reduce waistline. so dengan optimisnya, i drank 4 glasses of it last night. :P owhh sila abaikan tumbesaran lengan yang melampau. because as far as i concern green tea doesn't reduce your arm size. LOL. (tu yang sampai makan kene bukak spek tu kan.. ahahaha tak relevan langsung)

i found this very cute and the main attraction for people keep in coming here. the choo chooo train. hehe . (yeah maybe people like me only did attract to this thing) this train is actually a very long train keep on moving , bringing the sushi on it. and it fast you know.
there he comes.... choo chooooo....
and passed us by......
with big tempting sushissssss on its coachesss........so cute!

and the most funny thing was, my hubs already knew about the treat. he read my blog! damn. haaiiyooooo.. i guess any upcoming surprises, i wont talk about it here before it takes place! kalau tak nanti kene gelak lagi. hampeh.

anyhow, we glad that we spent a really quality time together. talked to each other about out past and future, right and wrong that we have done, money that we have saved and spent, and others that occurred in September.this is what a great thing about being married. both of us can correct each other, thus learn on it. because we, human make mistakes. and we have a mission for october. and we know we'll fulfill it diligently. insyaAllah.
how about you people? wish you a great October ahead. :)

LOVE ALWAYS
